We’ve released a new version of the iOS and Android app. When you tap links in alert emails, you’ll now be taken straight to the Alerts tab in the app. If the feature doesn’t work right away, you may need to fully reinstall the app.

In order to maximise the book search, I recommend. you prioritise in this order :

1/ Author search (without the book name)
2/ Search by barcode
3/ Search on the title without the author’s name.

Respecting that order maximises the chance for Booksnotify to find the book.

This release bring persistant connexion.
You do not have to re log every time you are entering in the application.

The coming 1.4.0 should be the first release in production.
This version brings counters for your number of alerts, books and authors in the library.
We have also optimised the search.
Please provide any feedback you have, I hope you'll enjoy it !

- Add a button in previews in book detail, enabling users to ask for a book thumbnail when missing
- Add the alert toggle just after the search result, avoiding having to go to book details.
- Add the version number in the setup screen for a better support

We have already received some feedbacks that have been implemented.

If you're currently testing the app, please verify:
– That adding books via barcode works without returning an error
– That book search via the search function works properly. (Note: for author names, it’s recommended to use both the first and last name for accurate results)
– That you can:

Set an alert for an author
Add a book to your reading list
Add a book to your library

I am working on a mobile app for Booksnotify.
To be continued....

I love reading and I always have.
The way I have always read is looking for an author, and try a book, and if I love it, read everything from that author.
The difficulty is to keep adapted later on when that author is publishing a new book.
Until now I didn't find a proper solution that would alert me without doing any search.
Recently, I took CS50 course in order to learn to code, I came with the booksnotify idea as part of the course projects.
I now want to share this tool with others in case they had that same need.
I'll hope you'll enjoy it !
